Mayor of London Calls In Origin Housing Planning Application

20/01/2017

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan has announced plans to call in two planning applications previously rejected by local authorities, including Origin Housing’s mixed-used development for Palmerstone Road, Wealdstone.

The Palmerstone Road development is located on the edge of Wealdstone Town Centre, and forms part of the ‘Heart of Harrow’ Housing Zone. The proposed development incorporates 186 homes, 40% of which will be affordable, plus commercial space and community floor space.  The scheme looks to regenerate an under-used area of Harrow, bringing a high quality mixed-use scheme of new homes and start-up workspace units to the area.

Origin has a history of working alongside the London Borough of Harrow to provide much needed housing in the area, and was granted planning permission for the delivery of over 200 new homes in Harrow in 2016.  These schemes include 116 homes at Townsend and Eaton House in South Harrow, and 121 apartments with commercial space on the site of the former Cumberland Hotel in central Harrow.
