Ramadan Mubarak!

Today, thousands of Muslims begin to fast and will do for the next four weeks to mark Ramadan. Ramadan is at a different time each year because Islam uses the lunar calendar. The annual observance of this special month is regarded as one of the Five Pillars of Islam and commemorates the Prophet Muhammad’s first revelation.

Ramadan is held during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is a time for spiritual reflection, acts of charity, and spending time with loved ones.

This year Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of 10 March, with the first day of fasting on 11 March and expected to end on  9 April 2024.
