We'll be celebrating 'On Your Feet Britain day' - Friday 26 April

“On Your Feet Britain” day, when people across the UK unite and participate in a variety of fun and simple activities to sit less and move more!

Major international research suggests that excessive and prolonged sitting can lead to increased risks of illnesses such as heart disease, cancers, diabetes, backache and muscle degeneration.

Participate in our Steps Challenge – measure your step count this week (Tuesday to Friday) using a free app on your personal mobile and send a screen shot of your totals to Well.Being@originhousing.org.ukthe top three individuals with the highest total number of steps will win a Wellbeing item of their choice up to the value of £15.

  • Go for a short walk, there are lots of great options. Find your nearest walk on https://www.walkingforhealth.org.uk/walkfinder
  • Stand during phone calls
  • Take a break from your computer every 30 minutes. Stand up, stretch and walk around
  • Use the stairs
  • Walk to work or get off a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way
