St Anne's flats gets a new garden space

News

|

We’ve recently worked with our Grounds Maintenance partner, John O’Connor, to improve a part of our St Anne's estate. There was an unused area that had become a hotspot for fly-tipping over the years. Not only did this make the place look messy, but it also posed a serious fire and security risk since it backed onto residents' properties. Naturally, this led to a lot of complaints from residents who wanted us to do something about it.

After chatting with interested residents and our Neighbourhoods team, we decided to turn the area into a lovely garden. The goal was to create a space that everyone can enjoy, and that local residents—especially families with young children—can get involved with, whether it’s planting or helping to maintain it in the future.

On Thursday, 10 July, John O’Connor came in and installed some planters, filled them with soil, and donated a variety of plants to kick-start the project. While they were working, several residents stopped by to share how happy they were to see this positive change and to thank us for investing in the improvement of the estate. It’s great to see the community come together for something so positive!
