Our resident scrutiny group needs you!

20/07/2020

We want to work with residents to review our controlled parking policy. At the end of the review, each resident involved in this parking scrutiny panel will get a £50 gift voucher.

We had previously fully recruited residents for this scrutiny group but we had to put it on hold because of coronavirus and some members’ circumstances have changed. We are now reaching out for new residents to be involved in this scrutiny group which we aim to start in September 2020.

As a resident, your insight and experience is incredibly valuable to us and so we want your input to help shape and improve our services. By joining our parking Resident Scrutiny Group, you will work as part of a team with other residents to give us an independent view of our policy, pointing out what works well and what needs improving.

This is a great opportunity to develop your personal and professional skills, meet new people, gain valuable experience that can support your career development, and contribute to improving how we deliver services.

How much time/commitment will you need to give?
Attend at least three meetings from September and engage outside of meetings via emails when necessary.

What skills do you need?
No previous experience is needed, but we are looking for enthusiastic people who can express their views effectively, challenge constructively, and understand and analyse information. You will also need to be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

What support will be available?
You will receive support from an independent mentor and the Community Development Team.

What will I need?
You will need to have access to equipment with internet access such as a laptop, computer or tablet. Should you not have access but still wish to be involved, please discuss this with us.

What expenses are offered?
You will need access to online meeting platforms such as Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom as we cannot currently meet face to face. We can reimburse any reasonable costs related, to ensure you have access to virtual meetings.

Are you eligible?
We welcome applications from all tenants and leaseholders with Origin Housing. As Enfield area and borough of Camden are well represented in the current group, we will prioritise applications from Hertfordshire and other parts of London, currently underrepresented.
