“White Ribbon is the UK's leading campaign engaging men and boys in the fight against gender-based violence.

This year's White Ribbon theme is “We Speak Up”, an opportunity for collective voices across the borough to challenges and address all forms of harassment and abuse of women and girls.

The starting point is the attitudes of men. We know from our figures that 72% of victims of abuse are women, 75% of suspects are men. In terms of deaths from domestic violence close to 90% of perpetrators of abuse are men.

White Ribbon aims to tackle the misogyny and sexism towards women committed by men, but most importantly it is a time for men to take a stand, challenge the behaviours, cultures and environment that impact on the everyday lives of women and girls.

From November 25 to December 10, we will be hosting a range of activities, training opportunities and talks to mark the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, culminating in the annual White Ribbon conference on December 10.
