Towards the end of last year we reviewed our approach to involving residents to make sure we keep your priorities at the heart of everything we do.

We know that listening to what  residents  say and acting on it is the key to improving the quality of our services. We asked over 2,000 residents their views and experiences of Origin to find out what we do well, where we can improve and what we need to change.

We want to make engagement with our residents a part of everyone’s job at Origin, working in partnership  to provide better services, improve our communication and build more trust.

We're early adopters of Together with Tenants, a National Housing Federation campaign to strengthen the relationship between housing associations and our residents by creating dialogue and engagement in as many areas as possible. You can find out more about what we’re doing as part of Together With Tenants here.

This year we will be talking to residents about how we can bring our new resident engagement strategy - ‘Together’ - to life so that you really notice the difference in the way we do things and in the communities you live in. For example, throughout the year we're heading out across London and Hertfordshire with our teams of 'Neighbourhood Explorers', staff from all across the organisation, to find out what we can do to improve our services in the area you live in.

Our colleagues from the Property Maintenance Team volunteered to do some gardening at our Enfield Single Housing scheme in Enfield to improve how the area looked alongside our gardening contractor and local residents. One of the residents impressed our contractor, John O'Connor, so much with their work ethic that they were offered a job on the spot!

To look at the options available for you to get involved. There are lots of different opportunities for you  to give us feedback on how we're doing,  help shape our services or get funding to help improve your community. There will be much more to come over the next year!
