Time Bank – exchange your time and skills!

Do you want to learn new skills, help others, meet new friends and become more involved in the community? Then why not join Origin Time Bank Camden!

What is Time Bank?

Time Bank is an incentive for people to share their skills with others in their community. For every hour of time you give to another participant, you receive one time credit. Your time credits can then be exchanged for help from another member. You choose the skills and needs which you would like to exchange.

What can you can do with your time credits?

You can exchange your time credits when you need a service from someone else. Training, activities and events can also be “bought” using your time credit. You can save time credits to use in the future. You can even give your time credits to a member of your family, friend or neighbour who needs some help.

Who can take part in the Time Bank scheme?

Anyone can participate. Young people can share knowledge in whatever interests them; the elderly and housebound can cook for events or make friendly phone calls. Age, ability, lack of finance or limited mobility will not stop you from taking part.

You don’t need to be an Origin Housing tenant or live in Camden to join Origin Time Bank Camden. You will need to provide two references and if you would like to work with children or vulnerable adults, you will also need to complete a Criminal Records Bureau (police) check.
