Healthy Living Project

Description:

Although many people in the UK are living longer, research into ageing with both younger and older people indicates that many people are suffering from ill health, both physically and mentally and so are unlikely to enjoy a good quality of life.

The aim of Healthy Living is to:

  • promote a healthy lifestyle for tenants living in retirement housing;
  • encourage social interaction with others;
  • increase awareness of the environment;
  • counteract depression;
  • increase daily activity levels;
  • provide accessible information so that local people can make informed choices about their life style;
  • provide weekly tai-chi classes and weekly chair based exercise.
