Partnerships
Here are details of a few of our partnerships that are illustrative of our work:
Local authority partnerships
Origin believes in working closely with local authority partners so that we may contribute to the achievement of local priorities and targets and to assist us in providing the best possible service to our customers. Our engagement ranges from involvement in Local Strategic Partnerships to participation in community safety initiatives and joint provision of community activities. In addition, through our care and support work Origin has a number of contracts with local authorities to provide services such as Care and Repair and Floating Support to their wider communities.
Connected Partnership
Origin has a partnership agreement with Octavia Housing Association and Shepherds Bush Housing Association. This was formed in 2005 originally to enable us to bid as joint partners for Social Housing Grant. This continues to be a core purpose of the partnership, enabling us to pool our skills, expertise and resources to manage our development programmes and our cash take up effectively with the Homes and Communities agency. Our collaboration runs wider to include joint procurement of supplies and services, training and sharing of best practice.

SPH Friends
Friends is an independent registered charity whose objects include providing grant funding to support the residents of the communities in which Origin Housing works. Friends are currently providing hardship grants to individuals for household essentials and are part funding our youth leadership programme. If you are interested in finding out more about their work, email info@sphfriends.org.uk.
NHS Trusts
Origin has a particular expertise in providing housing for health workers, part of our key-worker housing activities. This involves providing short term and specialist housing solutions, as well as more traditional longer term housing for rent at intermediate levels, to support the work of hospitals. North Middlesex Hospital in Enfield, Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Welwyn and Lister Hospital in Stevenage are our key sites.
Placeshapers
Origin is a founder member of a network of housing associations called the Placeshapers Group who share a common ethos about their work. The key principles are: putting residents and customers at the heart of what we do; being more than a simple landlord because we care about the people and places where we work; recognising and supporting local authority partners strategically and operationally; believing in the strength and benefit of a strong independent diverse not for profit sector. Placeshapers lobbies to get these principles recognised in government policy and regulation. For more information about Placeshapers visit www.placeshapers.org.
