The Minister for Decentralisation and Cities has hailed social housing providers, including Origin Housing, as an example of how localism can improve communities.
The ‘Localism That Works’ report compiled by PlaceShapers outlines key projects in five geographic areas that illustrate the success of ‘decentralised’ projects provided by housing associations in local communities. PlaceShapers are a national membership body of around 70 housing associations of which Origin is a founding member.
At the launch of the report in London, Minister for Decentralisation and Cities, Greg Clark said: "This report is a vivid illustration of how PlaceShapers engage with the future of their estates and communities. Across the country they have helped people return to work, reduced crime, created jobs and transformed local neighbourhoods. The 16 case studies are a testament to what local initiative and local innovation can do."
