All Wrapped Up at Watford

10/11/2009

Over seventy brave guests ventured up onto the roof of the building where the ceremony took place, with John Abbot of Kier and Gareth Jones of Origin ably assisting Dorothy Thornhill, the Mayor of Watford, to finish off the final roof beam, which will be hoisted into place at a later date.  After the ceremony, guests were invited to join the hosts for a reception in Watford Football Club’s exclusive Elton John Suite.

Part of West Watford’s regeneration programme, The Wrap, which has received grant funding support from the Homes and Communities Agency, will offer 164 one and two bedroom apartments, for keyworker, intermediate rent tenants, of which 39 will be Rent to Home Buy units.  The building will embrace the south end of the stands, sporting a slick white and anthracite exterior finish, and ‘Watford Red’ metal mesh encased balconies.  The development is due for completion in Spring 2010.
