Money for old slippers?

Origin Housing has gained funding from Camden council’s ‘Innovations Fund’ to supply older people on low incomes with brand new slippers. Worn slippers are a major cause of falls for older people & Camden is funding older residents and service users to get a safer new pair.

A pilot scheme in Wear has shown that new slippers are a simple and cheap way of reducing falls by up to 50% & improving quality of life in older people through reducing both the fear of and risk of falling.
