Golden Goodbyes

We will pay you up to £150 for leaving your property clean when you move. The Golden Goodbye can help you reduce arrears or treat yourself after all the hard work of moving.

Spacesavers: save space – and money

 

Is your property bigger than your needs? You can move to a smaller home, make your property available to someone who needs the space, and receive a cash reward.

By moving to a home with one less bedroom you can receive up to £1,000, plus a further £500 for each additional bedroom (a studio property is the equivalent of a bedroom).

Alternatively, you can exchange the cash reward for removal services (to be paid once you have moved), including:

 

• Redecoration;
• The removal costs;
• Disconnection and reconnection of domestic appliances;
• Refitting and altering of floor coverings;
• Curtains and blinds.

If you want to downsize your family-sized property, please complete a Transfer Application Form and send it to the Lettings team.

Community Lettings Scheme 

 

Origin Housing considers applications for rehousing from sons and daughters of existing tenants if your property is family-sized and overcrowded. To be eligible for this scheme you must be 18 years or over and living in the family home continuously since childhood. If you have children you will not be considered.

If you would like to apply for this scheme, please complete the Community Lettings Scheme Application form and call the Lettings team to book an appointment with an advisor. Please have your proof of address showing that you have been living in the property continuiously since childhood and proof of your income.

Right to acquire or buy
If you rent a home through a Registered Social Landlord you may be eligible for the the Right to Acquire scheme. In order to qualify, your home must have been built or purchased by a Registered Social Landlord with a social housing grant on or after 1 April 1997.
