The Athlone Estate celebrates the re-opening of Athlone Hall

25/08/2016

On Sunday 14 August the Athlone Estate celebrated the official re-opening of Athlone Hall following it's management being taken on by social enterprise The Middle Ground. The first ever Athlone Garden Party was well attended by local residents from the Athlone Estate and the wider community in Kentish Town who all helped celebrate the re-opening of the hall in the sunshine.

Organised with the help of the estate residents, the day featured face painting, arts/crafts activities and games, whilst the BBQ kept everyone enjoying the bouncy castle and sumo suits well fueled. Children from the estate also contributed their artistic talent in the lead up to the Garden Party, creating drawings to be used on the flyers advertising the event and on the bunting used to decorate the hall on the day.

Residents and visitors on the day discussed some of the potential future events for the hall with some starting to plan activities to benefit local childen.

For now, Athlone Hall is officially open and The Middle Ground will be encouraging leisure activities, such as yoga and art classes, to use the facility. There will be free places in each activity for Origin residents to come along and give them a try and, of course, the hall will still be available to Origin residents to use for their own private events and parties.
