06/01/2015Thanks to Gilmartins, who made sure that one of our residents had a safe and warm Christmas. Originally going in to fix the washing machine, they decided that the lady's cooker, could do with a revamp, so paid off her meter debts and bought her a new cooker.

Universal Credit to come into effect for some Origin residents from February 2015

The Government announced that Universal Credit would be rolling out across some parts of the UK with effect from February 2015. Universal Credit is a new simpler, single monthly payment for people in or out of work, which merges together some of the benefits and tax credits that you might be getting now.

For Origin residents, this affects those living in the London Boroughs of Barnet and Brent who are newly unemployed.

A big well done to Neighbourhood Manager Jade, our subletting detective

A tip off from a neighbour started the trail for Neighbourhood Manager, Jade to identify a sub-letter. The property had been registered in the tenant’s brother's name, but he hadn't lived there for years. He was renting the property out to students for £150 per week each, and at times having two or three students living there.
