What is staircasing?
Staircasing is when you wish to purchase a further share in your home. If you own 50% you may wish to purchase the further 50%, this is called staircasing. You can staircase in stages of percentages, until you own the full 100% of your home. Once you own 100% you no longer pay rent to the housing association.
